Misdiagnosis of Chronic Hypertension

Chronic Hypertension, such as Essential Hypertension can remain undiagnosed for years. It is called the “silent killer” because whilst undetected by the person, the high blood pressure nevertheless continues to do damage to the body (e.g. hypertensive heart disease, hypertensive kidney disease). Undiagnosed cases of Essential Hypertension is the most likely complaint. A small number of cases of Chronic Hypertension may be caused by an underlying secondary disease, which is called Secondary Hypertension.
